Proper grounding on vintage amps

I know that everyone here is aware of the need for retro-fitting vintage amps with a proper chassis ground, but here is a brilliant essay which should be read by anyone ( i.e. a repair customer who doesn't want to pay for a new power cord) who isn't:

When I used to work sound I always checked outlets for proper wiring  and also took voltage readings between amplifiers and microphones just to be safe, especially with venues or bands whose equipment I hadn't previously inspected.  There isn't as much vintage equipment being used on stage now but there are still plenty of garage and basement bands using funky gear, still some mis-wired outlets and still a few "collectors" who are misguided. As a repair tech you can't control all external situations, but  you can make sure that every old amp has a proper chassis ground.
