That dude is good

He really has Dick Dales tone and playing style nailed down

He even threw in parts of The Wedge here and there

Instantly knew they were Japanese.
Been to that bar a few times when I lived there.

The Ventures tour here in Japan every year and pull in tons of people (and even more money!).
There are some serious fanatics about surf.

I was testing out a head once and a friend took me over to a local road house.
Got invited up on stage.
We had the head in the car so.......
The amp was an 18 watt variant.
VERY Marshall-esk tone.
The tone didn't match the surf vibe in the place so I tossed in blues as filler.
Played with some old timers. They were really fun.All good.

Hung out after stage and a bunch of young guys piled in there.....playing surf.
It was kind of refreshing to see that genre is still very alive and kicking over here.

Side note:
I am almost convinced of the surf connection is because of the long history of Shamisen and the Sanshin.
These styles of playing also would wander into metal I feel.
(I really like the Sanshin.....that snake skin top!)

I'll shut up .
Sorry for the thread highjack.
