Why would anyone want to do anything other than build amps or play music? Actually I am going to coach Pop Warner Football this summer/fall for my 6 year old's team. If I had the spare time I would like to do some fishing.

Would you believe sewing?

I started out altering dresses and blouses for my ex15 yrs ago, then started sewing and designing about 8 yrs ago with a good friend. I have a real knack I've been told for design and alteration, and she's has impeccable technical skills. Together between her and I we've got about $6K in sewing machines and embroidery machines. Our label is "Designs by Ginger"

When the economy was good we had a pretty good run on a niche market designing and sewing fantasy wear for a lot of "exotic" dancers in the Toledo area.

Now our mainstay these days has been costumes and accessories for steam punks and cosplay (google it) outfits for the anime and manga otaku's and still the occasional corset. we make about 4 conventions a year and that more than pays for our hobby.

I truly wish amp building was half as profitable

Fishing in Willabe's lake

Hey now, wait a minute son, the big guy up stairs carved out that land by His Hand, that big ol' draw! And HE taught us/showed us how and what to do with it?  And taught us how to us it for all of us in the USA, United we stand, divided we fall, to make it better!

Heck yeah son, way less flooding damage, in the Ozarks and down stream, all the way through to the Mighty Mississippi River and then on to the gulf of Mexico, and now many, many more people can and have taken hold of the land for good for all of us, YES and YES my brother????  And all the children say, HIS children in the congregation say, AHMEN and AHMEN, which is, so be it, yes Father, we agree! Yes????

I look forward to shaking your hand some day, face to face, my tube amp brother, my friend.    :icon_biggrin:

Geez,Don't go all philisophical on me. :icon_biggrin:
There is some mixed feelings about the lakes.Obviously the flood control is a good thing. Also the lake has created an economy for a place that probaly wouldn't exsist anymore.(mt. home)But the only land around here thats suitable for farming is on the river bottoms. Many little towns and farms have been under water for  about 60 years.
My grandfather said the white river valley was an awesome site before they damed it up.500' tall bluffs huge springs and caves more fish than you could ever catch.Much of that is underwater now.
He said they didn't call it the white river for nothin. It roared

In a matter of 2 days your lake went from being a bit low.to being totaly full.I heard the water wasn't to far from the bridge in techumseh.Guess the white bass fishing is improving as the water clears.Peopel are taking there boats clear up past Dawt.I'd be down there if wasn't for having a stupid job.

The heck with the job!

When we goin fishin brother????

                       :l2:

I believe every thing your saying about how it was before they dammed up the river.    :icon_biggrin:

FWIW, when he say's the lake (Lake Norfork, Ark. sister lake to Bull Shoals) filled up in 2 days, that's a _ LOT _ of water! That would mean raising the lake 25' to 30' above it's normal retenison level. And as it rises, just like a bowl, the shore line extends outward which at least _ triples _ the lakes capacity from normal. The lake is at least 26 miles long and almost 180ft deep (?) at the dam, at normal retenision level.     :w2:

Yup, that's about right. I'll bring the nightcrawlers and ham sandwiches.

A boat, we don't need no stinkin boat! Just about everybody and their brother got a boat down in Mt. Home.

Heck, if you go down there and don't let them take you out fishin in their boat, they get their feelin's hurt.       :l2:

Gotta love the Ozarks!
