Anyone ever sell tubes to a reseller?

Hi,

I've got way too many tubes, mostly ones I'll never use. I'm thinking about shipping them off to a buyer  (like Brent Jesse, or similar.)  I'm just wondering if you can recommend any buyer over another, or what to look out for, in general.

I've already gleaned out the ones I may possibly use in the remaining years of my life.

Also, if anyone is looking for a specific tube, let me know. (No, I'm not selling off my RCA blackplate 6l6GC's or EF86's... My hoarding monkey won't let me.) But I have a shitload of just about 5,000 NOS tubes and Compactrons, which I'd probably part with for next to nothing, especially to Forum members. I'd also donate some to people who may want to try new builds that get added to the Forum discussions and schematics. Just cover the shipping. I'll look through my stash. I probably have it.

I've got a ton of old NOS radio and TV tubes. I sent my inventory list to AES several years ago
and they made me an offer--very low, can't remember the exact amount, seems like about $50.00 or less. They are all still sitting in my shed with the mice doing their best to chew the boxes up. Guess I should have took the offer. Platefire

HBP, there are others, don't have time to sort through all, split them if T-sq wants to part with them?  it's true. i like to build weird stuff. it's a curse. 
i was thinking an all compactron super reverb might be cool and next on the weird-build list, but then again, maybe start simple with a 5E3 or the like. care to co-develop?

I'm looking for a pair of decent 6L6GC's.  You can hoard your black plates all you like.  If you have any NOS or good pulls you can part with is good.  I'm just trying to stay away from the new production stuff for my main gigging amp.

DL: I'm not hurtin for tubes. So you can cull through for things you can't live without.

However, you did have 6AT6 and 6AV6 on your list; I'm building an amp right now that uses those. The original used a 12AX7 in that particular tube position, but it was to provide a pretty anemic second channel no one uses anyway. I ditched the second channel in favor of a cheap, readily available NOS 7-pin (either 6AV6 or 6AT6, depending on mood).

 I am brand new to this site but this post was extremely interesting. I have a PA 100 that needs a full overhaul and conversion, the tubes are all mismatched and a couple missing I beg of the  kind sir to allow me to purchase at a good price sufficient tubes to start my project.

My needs are:

4- 6l6GC
3- 7025
1- 12AX7a
2- 12AT7

And if anyone has a bunch of capacitors kicking around, need those too. :) my project is just for home use and to keep my mind busy as I am semi retired. I also intend to add a Plexi Channel. but that is for another post.

Wow! This forum is beginning to accumulate quiet a load of obscure NOS and used tubes. Anybody for building a tube TV set, with a built in tube radio that you can plug your guitar and stereo into that would test it's own tubes.

yep!  we could complete build the TV,,  except for the actual picture tube! 

who's got a tube design for the HD amplification?   An NTSC amplifier won't get much variety in my area.
