ReVibe Dream
« on: August 16, 2012, 12:05:20 pm »
I came up with this diddy a while back while watching TV with a guitar on my lap

The 1st half is the ReVibe with reverb only
The 2nd half is the Revibe with Reverb and Vibrato

I just called it Revibe Dream cause I could not come up with a better name

This is Revibe Dream #2 - I came up with some better parts, IMO

Revibe Dream #2

This is the original version - Revibe Dream #1

Revibe Dream #1

I can hear Jerry Douglas taking this basic idea and making it into something really nice.  :icon_biggrin:

Oh man! Jerry Douglas! Yeah I think your right.

It's a real nice piece you wrote there and that slide would sound great on it as the lead part.

I was imagining Danny Gatton (if he were still with us, that is...)

Very nice piece to build on.

Thanks Jeff,
It's a really simple diddy, nothing special,  but the Revibe gives it a huge room feel.

Anywho, just another Revibe sound clip for those that want to hear what it can do.

It's beautiful.  I really like that a lot.  I've come up with some of my best stuff while sitting on the couch watching TV.

Besides the tune itself, the ReVibe is really cool.

Definitely a good foundation building block.
I hear all kinds of stuff that could be put in there.
Sounds great!

It was in my head while doing a hike yesterday
I figured out a better way to go to the 4 and then back to the 1

I'll have to mess around with it some more

Might be time for another collaborative track..

This might actually get me geared up for recording something

Your recording technique yields excellent results

Thanks.
This is a direct recording, No Speakers, no mics
Guitar -> ReVibe -> Tube preamp -> sound card line in -> Guitar rig using a HiWatt amp and cabinet -> recorded in Mixcraft 6

I just revamped the tune check out Revibe Dream #2 and see if it is any better

Guitar -> ReVibe -> Tube preamp -> sound card line in
In that order?.....ReVibe before preamp?....If so I never would've thought to try that

Man,,,that really sounds GREAT
How can I steal that mp3 to throw it in my practice amp?

The revibe outputs the same signal level as what comes in (maybe just a tad higher) and so it is always used before the amp.

It's used just like a stomp box.

You could put it into an effects loop on an amp but I bet it would not sound as good.

I changed the chord progression around a bit on #2
The first sound clip was 1-4-1 end
I changed it up to 1-4-1-4-1 end

And ruin it!!???
Actually that is what I was hearing in this too.

I usually wait for Doug to give the okay that his tunes are "open to interpretations" before proceeding.

I am still practicing.
I just picked up another steel, cleaning, and putting it back together now for different tunings (A and E and such).

Cool tunage fer sure.

I can hear a taste of your Ventures younger years background coming up in that. I can also hear drums creeping in to that and also bass playing high sustained notes. Good stuff!
On the right track now<><

Thank you so much Jeff. I have listened this direct recording. This is really special for me specifically Diddy and ReVibe. You have done really a great work.
