we drove up from south texas to austin circa 1983 to catch heart. he and 10 years after were the opening act for heart - both shows rocked. he made guest appearance with heart and played white lighning and wine. he and howard leese traded solo's. it was a killer show.

parts of that album brad posted are in my playlist. he'll be missed.

Kidding, I got to see Alvin Lee once.  Really enjoyed the show.  That night he was playing a Les Paul, the one that looks like an SG.  Black with 3 pups.  They were loud and he was playing faster than I had ever heard.

My first exposure to him was the woodstock movie playing "Going Home". As a young budding guitar player, seeing that knocked me off my blocks and caused me to consider approches I've never considered before. He certainly left his mark on me. Plate
