Glad you guys like it.

Yeah that's another great Alison song. Jerry makes that Dobro ring and chime like a bell. Alison has a soft, innocent and honest quality about her that's very attractive.
When I courted my wife we were listing to the CD, So Long, So Wrong. I had just found out about Alison and the music and band was different, but we loved it. It took me a little while to get used to her voice but the songs and band were soooo good we kept listening. I was used to thicker blues/R&B/soul/pop type of women's voices. So the soft airiness of her voice was not something I was used to.
Shawn Colvin can really sing and is a great guitar player too. Also a great writer, although some of her songs are to me a little to modern sounding style wise. She's very good at finger picking and plays in tunings sometimes. She has a CD called Cover Girl that is all cover songs and is a killer CD. The songs on the CD have great lyrics and her versions are deep and brooding yet gentle. Very much like a lot of Alison's tracks. I can't recommend that CD enough. We were listing to that when we were courting too.
I've seen pictures of Shawn where she looked drop dead gorgeous and others where she had gained weight and looked tired and a little lost.
I'll tell you another women country singer who I love is Patty Loveless. That gal can sing. Nothing fancy but she's got a great feel and emotion to her singing. Very old school mountain music country styling. She's a little older now but in her prime she was
very easy on the eyes. Very sweet at heart and not trampy.
