I love seeing amp pics on this forum so I am sharing these...

It's definitely a form of art......from the wire colors, to the way you lay it out  :icon_biggrin:

200 years from now they're gonna dig this stuff up and say "man these guys were obsessed with this stuff"......they're dead right

Wait 'til they plug 'em in  :icon_biggrin:

Yeah man!

I got em all lined up for listening.  You're not even seeing the half of them.  I've got 10 pairs of power tubes laid out along with 6 rectifiers and plenty of preamp tubes to try out (~100 or so).

I have a tube hoarding problem.

I decided to try out a new way of wiring this time around.  I did the under the board wiring scheme to get the top board to look and clean as possible.  I am not convinced I'll do this again though, seems to me that it would make troubleshooting more difficult if the need arises.  It does look cleaner though.

I also wired things up in reverse to what I normally do.  I wired up the preamp section first and ended with the power section.  Tried to create a challenge.

Went with cloth wire on this one, have been using teflon wire up until these past two builds.

I have a tube hoarding problem.

I know and feel your pain my tube amp building/playing brother and I have developed a program to help set free my brothers from it.  :w2:

Here's how it works;       :think1:

You come to my house, bring ALL your TUBES and stay at my house in the backyard in a tent. All that is required of you is to mow the lawn once a week, cook the meals, do the dishes and LEAVE ALL the TUBES so as to take any temptation away. All the time being only allowed to listen to disco and 80's/90' electronic music. Works every time!

Well at least for me any way.    :m13

Sorry TubeGeek but I couldn't help myself.

Really this new build as with all your other builds looks great!

And your notes on tweaking each build are as good or better than any ones here or else where.

Spent a couple hours listening to tubes tonight.  Here are my notes:

Each set of tubes was played for about 20 minutes while I listened closely and wrote down notes on a white board close by.  I did not touch the controls on the amp.  There is a picture of where I have the controls set to.

Now that I have an idea of which power tubes I will keep installed, I will begin experimenting with 5 different rectifier tubes.

Preamp tubes will be last.
