Any Good Matching Cream Trim for Les Pauls

I really like my Epi Les Paul Studio but on the appearance I'm not really crazy about the all black plastic trim. I decided it would look a lot classier with cream trim. Once I got to researching the trim avilable I've learned that most trim parts come from different manufacturers with slightly
different shades of cream or not exactly matching. Stu Mac tell you right off the bat that their parts don't match.
  So I did a search on e-bay and found what appears to be a matching cream set such as on the attched link below but it looks really cheap.

Does anybody know where you can get a good quality matching cream set. What I want is matching pickguard, pickup rings, switch plate and switch knob. The tone/volume knobs could be a darker color, so thats not an issue. This is the guitar I'm talking about.
  Even thinking about some open coil pickup covers also but I understand guitar fetish covers are really cheap also. Don't want a full cover, only a partial cover. Platefire

I think a nice pair of chrome pickup covers would "class it up" a bit

I think I remember reading where Geezer said he gets a "better" sound with covers on........mellower maybe

Well strange as it may sound in the 70's when I was playing with a lot of bands I had a Les Paul Custom Black Beauty, also a Les Paul Deluxe with the mini humbuckers and this epi studio sounds and plays better than either of those higher end axs. In fact I had bad neck problems with the Custom that I had to get rid of it and that was a real disappointment because at the time that was my dream guitar that I finally obtained and it wouldn't work for me.
   I think you all have convinced me, think I'll  leave well enough alone and be happy. Platefire

good choice.i think that cream on a white body only looked good in your head lol,but i wasn't going to try to convince you otherwise.My best bud plays a Gibson black beauty,2011 or 2012,pretty sweet axe but more hype than value for the money imo.

My ax could pretty much approximate this appearance except I would still have the dot postion markers instead of the nice blocks---but not only is it a issue matching colors or shades of cream but also different size of parts.
One thing I read over and over in Stu Mac's reviews was the pickup rings didn't cover the pickup route completely--It seems like the manufactures should know it would be better to have them slightly over sized on the outside perimeter than too small, but maybe there is a good reason for that?? They don't cover the routs on an Epiphone, but work fine on a Gibson.  And the Epiphone pickup rings look awful because they are so big!  Though, even on a Gibson, you need to be very careful to line things up just right.

I went ahead and pulled the trigger on a complete cream trim set including knobs. I'll be surprised if it all fits and works but I keep thinking that's what I want to do, so I'm going fur it. Platefire

The screw-in parts are one thing, but replacing the binding...is a heckuva lot more work than I would want to put into it. But then, I'm a tad lazy in that department.

Oh, no binding on this ax, it's a LP studio. Wouldn't attempt to tackle that either. So on my epi LP studio I'll be going from all black trim to mostly cream. The transition will be like as shown below:

I wish I could hang amps.  I have never had a lot of guitars, but I have modded quite a few.  What is strange is now is I don't change them much but I used too.  I have 4 electrics and one flat top.  The last one I modded was a Classic Vibe Squire Tele.  I put some Texas Specials with a Barden bridge and 4 way switch.  It is very scary how nice that guitar is.

It looks like the Gibson.  The black trim looked ok to me, but I really like the gold speed knobs.

BTW-On the cream trim, I couldn't get it out of my head so I went ahead and did it so it would be over with and I could move on. I do like it better but I've still got all the black trim just in case.

I have put 4 of my amps up for sale to thin things down some.  I was playing a Marshall I have last night considering if I was ready to sell it.  It is a real Plexi.  I think I will keep it a tad longer.

This is awful, but I cannot tell you how many amps/leslie and cabinets I have.  I have been selling loads of amps and still have more to go.  There was a time a dabbled in B3's and 122's and 147's.  I decided to stop about 6 years ago.  The market was good and the newer stuff is getting good enough where most bands will not be traveling with the B3's and leslies soon.  I was on a sound check listening to a NORD and simulated leslie and it is good, really good.

I am only keeping my collectables and my old radios.  My builds sell pretty fast, but there is not any money in it and not why I do it.  I sell them because it takes a lot of time keeping up that much tube equipment,  time I could be using building my next wants.

I did forget to mention we have a few Basses, Keys, roland drums, tri-amped PA.  I have a nice jam room but I need to keep from dragging stuff home.

Oh my!  Looks like you got GAS worster than me. A guy came by to pick up his Gibson Lancer Amp tonight I had worked on and left a 1984 Westone Electra Spectrum LX to try out that he wants to sell or trade for--another guitar . If I like it  will haft to be a trade because I'm not increasing the guitar count. Yep B3's & Leslies don't see very often anymore. I use to have a couple of Hammond PR-40 Tone Cabinets--still got one PR-40 amp in the shed. Need to e-bay it. Got a bit of outdated recording equipment that I don't use anymore-just sitting! I could make a full time job of getting rid of stuff for a while.

It amazes me watching American Pickers. These guys that have acres of sheds just full of stuff so much that they don't even know what all they got and won't even sell one piece  and are riding in a golf cart because their health is so bad they can't walk. Somebody going to have a mess to clean up when they pass---I don't want to be like that! Plartefire
