Wow, there are some legendary heavyweights there!  Although I never was a fan of Chet's fingerpicking "style", what a monster player.  The dual leads with Jerry sounded like the Allman Bros! Having said that about Chet, one of my fav albums is Chester and Lester (Chet and Les Paul).  Jerry, Chet, Roy....wow! :worthy1:  Outside the session players, only Paisley and Gill come to mind as today's country slingers.  Maybe I'm partial, but I think they are still a step below the previous three.  Although I do think Ricky Skaggs is in a class by himself. :notworthy:

I like how Jerry really dressed for the occasion.  He wore his best tennis shoes!

Maybe so, but Gill could sing the birds out of trees and is a Great song writer too. Gill singing a song he wrote then takes the lead part on a strat is about as good as it get's in my book.

Yes he is.

He hung his golf hat on Chet's guitar head stock after the song! Who could get away with that? Chet just smiled.

Glen Campbell is/was another monster picker/singer, to me anyway. There's old footage out there from Campbell's old TV show with Campbell and Reed trading licks  on electrics.
