Yeah, I just listened to that this morning. I got that album when I was in high school.       (Max Middleton was a great keyboard player.) I saw Beck live twice back then with Jan Hammer, Blow by Blow era. He was still playin' 3 different guitars, a Strat, a Tele, and a Paul. 

But Freddie schooled them all, along with BB and Albert, the 3 kings of the blues. Those guys re-wrote the book after T-Bone Walker wrote it the 1st time.   

Stevie Ray and Beck used to play it as an encore when they were touring together.

Jimmi Vaughn said he saw Freddie playin through 2 Fender Quad (4x12") amps and was as loud as any thing he'd ever heard!        

Guess he wasn't at Cali Jam.

I recorded this version of "Going Down" a few years ago. Maybe some of you have never heard it?   Not a very good recording, but I had fun doing it. Don't know if I've ever heard someone playing it with "some" slide parts before?
