Re: Fender AB763 Reverb One Channel Eyelet board

I have a Hot Rod Deluxe with a non-working circuit board. Transformers are in working condition. I was considering building a 40watt Mesa Lonestar clean channel, but it looks spookily similar to this. So now I'm thinking I'll build the AB763 single channel w/ reverb into this chassis. Do-able? If so, any chance you could make a tube-mount board ala your Blues Jr. retrofit, or would it be easier to keep the existing and sort out the wiring harness connections?

Thanks in advance!

I know it's only Rock and Roll, but I like it. \m/

Thanks anyway, Doug. So what do you think, guys and gals? Is the Fender Hot Rod Deluxe a good donor platform for Doug's Single channel AB763 with reverb?

Cheers!

I think so. Putting a 3 1/8" board in a tweed style chassis can be a challenge depending on how wide your chassis is. My TDR is a single channel AB763 with reverb. I used a 2 1/4" board inside a 4" x 3" x 17" chassis. It was tight.
A schematic, layout, and hi-rez pics are very useful for troubleshooting your amp. Don't wait to be asked. JUST DO IT!

You should be able to look at my Blues Junior build page and compare what you have to that

How different can all these new Fender chassis be?

Looks like the board is 13" x 3.125". Does that sound right? If so, I'll just pull the chassis and measure it. :)

Thanks!

Sorry, this is what happens when you post on forums at work.

Ok, let me clarify. I looked at the post about the Blues Jr. Conversion and it looks like there is plenty of room. I'm asking to clarify the size of the AB763 Single Channel board. I think your boards are 3.125" wide, and the length is listed as 13". Assuming the width is correct, I'm looking at a 13 x 3.125 board. Is this correct?

I'll make a cardboard mockup and check it inside the chassis to verify.

Thanks!
