reverb tank output

Is the output of a reverb tank greater, equal to, or less than a guitar's pickup output? I know this is a tricky question because it depends on how hard the tank is driven but generaly speaking how does the tank output signal compare to a guitar?
 
  This isn't the main reason for my question but has anyone ever got some rca to 1/4 jack adaptors plugged a delay pedal in line between the reverb tank's output and the tank input on their amp? Wonder how'd that'd sound?

In general, the reverb pickup level is lower than guitar pickup level. I would expect to want an adjustable boost 2X to 10X before going into guitar-cord effects, to get signal above universal hiss.
