Thanks to Sluckey for the AB763 Lite
« on: July 22, 2016, 10:13:31 am »
Just finished this build. Tore down a Fender 5B3 and used what parts I could. The PT is a ClassicTone 40-18016 and the OT is a 40-18022. I get 439 vdc on the power tube plates. 376 vdc at node C to the PI and 310 vdc at node D to the pre amp tube. It is matched up with a WGS 12" Reaper. Took it over to my guitar playing friend (I don't play) to try out. This amp sounds really really good. He had all of his equipment packed up for a show this Saturday so he got out a Fender Strat to play. He played a little then went to a crate and got out his pedal board and played some more with the pedals. Looked at me and said, "Can I use it this Week end?" I may never get my amp back. Can't believe I haven't built one before. Thanks Steve, for the work and info. You made this build easy for me.

Glad it worked out for you. Enjoy.
A schematic, layout, and hi-rez pics are very useful for troubleshooting your amp. Don't wait to be asked. JUST DO IT!

Pic maybe if I get it back anytime soon. I'm not much on pictures because my work looks so sloppy when I see ya'll's. I can tell you this for a starter. The board layout is per Fender style. I put the tone controls on a terminal strip at the pots instead of being on the board. This gave me room to put the e-caps on the board which I did. Worked out pretty good. The grounding is per Steve's with the PT, filament, power tube cathode, First two e-caps, bias circuit and the OT ground on a terminal at the PT. I ran a grounding bus alone the edge of the board and picked up the tone stack, volume, pre amp , PI and the input jacks on it. It is grounded on a lug right under the input jacks. Amp is very quiet. Thanks for the comment. I will try to get some pictures.
