reverb dwell?

 I can check my dwell on the 'ol dodge, but not sure how to hook up the meter on a verb tank

anyway, I have the 3 spring 9A** tank doug sells, the recommendations I've been reading on 1 tube verb is 4A**
Can I simply remove 1 spring from the 9A since all the other specs seem to line up?

also, what it is dwell for reverb?, is it still an *angular* measurement?

I don't have an answer for that. But why would you want to? I'd first see if 1/2 12AX7 can drive the tank as is. Or maybe even get a 12DW7 for the one tube reverb circuit.

Dwell simply controls the amount of signal that drives the reverb tank.

Dwell sets the signal level to the reverb driver tube.
Amps that don't have it will just have a fixed grid leak resistor value.
The driver tube doesn't care how many springs your tank has... and the impedance matching is about the only thing that truly matters, so check the letter after "9A" and make sure that matches up too

The type 9 tank is the same size as the type 4 tanks. The type 8 is the short tank.

I asked because on dougs page with tanks it says the 9A should be used with a dwell knob, which I don't have penciled in.  I am leaning to toward a dual AT drive, and 1/2 AX for recovery.

Will do!  That's why I did so bad in English, It's a place you live, it's a meter for measuring cam angle-points, it's knob on a guitar amp

I prefer the Type 9 medium delay tanks. It's still good to have a dwell control with them, but the reverb won't be as cavernous (with/without the dwell control) as the Type 4 tanks.

If you like reverb, you ought to pencil in the Dwell control, as it makes the effect much more controllable. You may also consider an audio pot instead of the stock linear (since many say they get all the reverb they'd ever want by 4 on the Reverb control).

Pencil'n it is, still haven't settled on who to *borrow from*, most likely some fender with the verb-lux phrasing
