are current jacks really that bad?  I've been using them for a long time with only one major issue, Fender using those crap plastic input Jacks that I just replaced with switchcraft.  I guess it's not that much more, Doug's sell for 2.50ish vs 3.00, but I wonder why nobody had tried replacing the old one in a long time...

It could be a great leap forward though.

The idea appeals to me for speaker jacks, especially with the double spring loaded sleeve contacts. But I want switching jacks for all my input needs and that jack doesn't have much room to add switch contacts (you would need two) or an extra solder lug. Wonder if PureTone has a solution?

I did notice they compared their 'superior' jack to some cheap plastic jack rather than a quality Switchcraft jack.  :icon_biggrin:

I'll stick with the brand I've been depending on for 50 years.
A schematic, layout, and hi-rez pics are very useful for troubleshooting your amp. Don't wait to be asked. JUST DO IT!

Hey though.... it says "it creates a much more balanced sound". We need a little balance sometimes. :icon_biggrin:

... it says "it creates a much more balanced sound". ...

Making big claims is easy without a pesky conscience getting in the way.

Maybe that's why I had a tough time making a lot of money selling amp-related stuff:  I was too willing to tell folks the truth.

Plenty of Switchcraft jacks doing fine in 50-60 year old Fender amps; that means there's a high probability anything I build with them will outlive me.
