Let there be light
« on: January 14, 2017, 08:26:51 pm »
I just installed some LED lights above my work bench and OMG, sooooo much better.  Tell me why I waited so long to do this.  If you don't have this don't hesitate like I did...

I could sure use that!
A schematic, layout, and hi-rez pics are very useful for troubleshooting your amp. Don't wait to be asked. JUST DO IT!

Got my first LED trouble/work light last year. What a difference over the old 100W bulb!
Tapping into the inner tube.

I grabbed some 1" square tubing, welded up an easy frame and mounted it to the back wall.  Then attached the track lighting (Lowes) all for under 200 bucks.  If you need this go for it, its so worth it.

My old co-worker friend designs n builds LED lighting for the "medical" crowd here, I have 2 proto-types, both are 100watt LED chips - DO NOT look at the light :icon_biggrin:
His 500watt-ers will blind you for days!
Went Class C for efficiency

They actually make LED bulbs that are physical drop in replacements for florescent bulbs. The light housing needs rewired - ballasts no longer required so it can be removed. They just replaced all of the florescent bulbs with LED style where I work and man, what a difference. I did not realize just how badly some of the old bulbs had aged. You need SPF 35 in there now. Draws less current and looks like brand new every day.
Some of the most amazing music in history was made with equipment that's not as good as what you own right now.
