Mesa Rocket 44 part
« on: March 20, 2019, 09:17:55 am »
I found a bad inductor in the contour part of the circuit
Falco 9749 519068
Does anyone know where I can source one?

Try Mouser
A schematic, layout, and hi-rez pics are very useful for troubleshooting your amp. Don't wait to be asked. JUST DO IT!

Thanks Guy's......I actually dug the broken lead out of the case and measured the 2.4ohms again and it lined up with the circuitboard so I resoldered it in and she is alive again and sounds incredible
I'll still want to source the part I'll try Mesa first

Looks like I celebrated prematurely When I took the chassis off my bench where it sounded incredible and put it back in the combo cabinet it sounds like crap again
I tried a different speaker cab and it sounds alittle better but still like crap Its back to the bench again ugh!!!!

What did you measure the inductor with? 2.4 Ohms would be a resistance, reactance, at a particular frequency. Unless you really wanted to express the answer in Ohms, it should be stated in uh.
I just found this page the other day. Lot's of audio caps and inductors: http://www.danssmallpartsandkits.net/

The print shows .068h
The part itself is Falco 519086 9749

so I believe that is  .068 henry = 68 mH = 68000 uH  should be readily available lots of places. Just google or I saw them at the place silverfox mentioned.

Just go to Mouser. Search for 68mH. Over 200 hits with a wide variety of form factors and sizes. Most for about 1 buck. I'm sure there will be one that catches your eye.

BTW, that formula link requires you to know the freq and ***REACTANCE*** to calculate inductance. No way to solve for inductance based on a DC ohmmeter resistance measurement. And why would you? The inductance is given on the schematic.

Thanks, Steve. for the formula correction. I will see if it will let me delete that post before someone like me get's confused about that.

Will any radial 68mh be sufficient?
I’m not having any luck trying to find an exact replacement?

Even if it's the size of your fist it will work. I'm partial to the little axial lead inductors that look like a cc resistor and are about the same size.
