William A. Creller  October 18, 1931 ~ November 6, 2019 (age 88) passed away Wednesday, November 6, 2019 ...after a brief illness.  ....He was employed at Tri-City Airport as Chief Inspector for 25 years prior to his retirement in 1991.  Mr. Creller was a licensed pilot and enjoyed flying and maintaining his airplane along with working on his classic cars.  He also enjoyed music, especially playing and servicing Hawaiian steel guitars.

I'm sad to hear this. I knew he was fighting some cancer battles. I really liked Bill and appreciated/respected his enthusiasm for airplanes, classic cars, and old amps. His workmanship was top notch. He was also a very likeable person. His "summer project" which actually spanned several summers was an interesting El Camino restoration project. If you read through that thread you'll get a good picture of the man he was.

Sad to read this..   R.I.P Mr Creller.  I enjoyed reading his posts and replies.

I liked him also!  Seemed like a courageous man and someone who resolved to stay very active in life.

Just heard about the sad news.  Bill was an extraordinary man.  I had the fortune to talk with him many times over the years.  He was a Veteran.  He was a pilot.  He was an active A&P Mechanic.  It is hard enough to stay current with the FAA for someone working full time and Bill was semi-retired as he used to say.  He had a genuine love for Hawaii and Hawaiian music.  He would be the first to admit he wasn't very good playing slide.  I have a feeling this was just his usual humble response to all his activities.  When he visited friends in Hawaii he talked about jamming into the wee hours.  I'd be willing to bet his playing was just as excellent as his amp, car, and plane work.  As Jeff said, he certainly had a passion for life and his activities.  I will certainly miss his wit and wisdom.  He was a great man.
