Gutted a Fender SuperSonic22 that didn't work and turned it into a Carolina SuperSonic with some features borrowed from my Carolina Overdrive Special.
The amp belongs to Patrick who is a remarkably gifted guitarist. I talked him into a quick soundclip to a backing track. This was a "one take" effort but still showcases his talent and the amp tone. I really enjoy the touch sensitivity of this amp and the overdrive tone alot. He had been playing on the amp maybe only 30 minutes prior to playing on this tune. Despite the amp being new to him, he was able to coax out some nice tones to my liking.
The amp has quite a range of tones between clean and overdrive and tone stacks on both the clean and the OD channels contribute to this.
https://soundclick.com/r/s8i87d First two minutes were the clean channel with midboost on using a strat style guitar with single coil sized humbuckers with high output pickups . You can hear the overdrive at around 1:35 into the song. The last 15-20 seconds were recorded on my f-hole Tele with low output pickups.
And I also recorded this clean amp demo with the Tele with f-holes on the neck pickup which is a low output Alnico 2.
