A little PT help, if you please..
« on: August 23, 2022, 10:01:34 am »
I have a P/T in hand that has BOTH primary wires as black. Is there any way to determine which I should route to the fuse and switch? It's an older Weber, and the wiring diagram I received with it shows the black as being correct for the age....thanks all, much appreciated.

Connect the black to the switch/fuse. Connect the other black to the power cord neutral.
A schematic, layout, and hi-rez pics are very useful for troubleshooting your amp. Don't wait to be asked. JUST DO IT!

Sorry Sluckey, you've got that the wrong way round. It's actually BLACK that goes to the Switch/Fuse, and the OTHER black that goes to the power cord neutral.

So if I read you right, it doesn't matter in this case, correct?

transformer don't care.
you just need to make sure the power from the wall is wired properly (line/black to fuse then switch then transformer, neutral/white to transformer)

I had it right for the U.S. You must be thinking about the U.K. wiring.
