Hoffman Stout Reverb questions

Greetings friends,


I've begun gathering parts for a Stout reverb.


This build is for a good friend who IMHO really deserves to have a decent amp. Problem is, he is such a dedicated family man, he would never spend the money for one on himself.


So with those financial constraints, I've got to build this amp with as many parts I have on hand without compromising on sound quality or reliability.


My first question concerns the power supply section.


I have in my possession a transformer from an old RCA console record player.


It was a mono and supplied a 5U4GB recto  2 12AX7's and a pair of 6BQ5's


It has a bias tap at about 100V, and a separate 60v winding besides the usual 5v and 6v windings.


The secondaries read 301-0-301 unloaded.


Physically it has the same foot print as a Marshall 18W thru chassis transformer, but it seems maybe a 1/2" thinner in the core.


My concern is it may not support the  extra 12AX7 and 12AT7 that a stout reverb requires (heater wise)


The 6v winding landed on a socket that supplied the rest of the console lights and what ever else.


Is there a way to simulate the power draw on the heaters?


Am I making mountains out of molehills?
