Confused!!
« on: October 20, 2024, 08:39:30 pm »
So I understand that there will be continuity between the heater wires and ground due to the ct of the pt.

I also believe that the same thing across the speaker ours occurs. But I’m confused with the jack switching of the output.

With a cable plugged in will there still be continuity across tip/sleeve? Or should the cable be opening that connection so that they are now isolated from each other.

Single output jtm 45.

8 ohm to tip

Center tap, ground, and nfb to sleeve.

Am I correct?

He wanted to know if there is 'continuity between tip to ring.'

Why he want's to know that?  :dontknow:

No.

There is no CT on an OT's secondary. And the nfb is tapped from the tip, + signal, not the sleeve, ground connection.

It is not answered, what you and pdf64 posted was ohms, not continuity.

I get it, but because of what he asked and the way he worded it, I don't think he will understand.

He asked about continuity, not resistance/ohms. Yes, where there's resistance there will be continuity, but I don't think he'll get that.

No, I believe I understand. Thank you all for the help. My statement about negative feedback to sleeve was a typo and from my post I’ve gathered that continuity Between tip and sleeve is normal

I have also gathered that at no time Should any output secondary tap Be grounded.

.8 ohms between tip at ring So all is well thanks again
