LND 150 FX loop pcb
« on: May 02, 2025, 08:06:52 am »
Getting tired of ordering these things from Australia. Takes too long and expensive. Anyone have a source for a zero loss FX loop pcb? Not fully populated for $80 but just the pcb

Your time has come joesatch! This is your startup moment. Set yourself up in one of the old Peavy plants.

$10 parts plus your ingenuity, and sell it for $29.95!

(Whoopsie - Is the $10 parts subject to tariffs? Sell it for $49.95)

I did another search but looking at images and different shops came up, there's Granger in the US selling populated ones, and says limited stock, but perhaps they may be able to sell bare PCB's, might be worth contacting them

Otherwise its cheapy chinese ones from KLD on Reverb site, but yeah, there's not much out there

Tried looking for "layout" in the search but only this LND150 Overdrive FX Pedal came up

https://forum.pedalpcb.com/threads/2x-lnd150-od.16532/

I'm sure you could work on a small tagboard / holeboard layout for this, there more parts than the overdrive pedal in the link above but its a lot less than some of your guitar layouts you have worked out and built

I got an FX loop that was really excellent from a guy on SLOCLONEFORUMS.COM.  Not sure if he still offers them.

Never built one of these
I have a lot of pedals but don't usually use them as I prefer just the guitar and amp.
But as I researched this fx loop has become appealing.
What do you think about my first time trying this China kit?
https://reverb.com/item/42638093-fx-loop-of-tube-guitar-amp-by-lnd150

could I breadboard into an existing amp for experimenting?

Is the schematic here correct? or is there a better one?

Also relay boards, folks charging way too much for those . stuff that cost a few bucks.

Our host Doug sells relay PCB's in his store, their $2.50 for 1 to 9 boards, their $2.00 for 10 and up. His relay power supply boards are $6.00 for 1 to 9 boards, $5.50 for 10 and up. And there's a 16 pin relay socket he sells for $0.60. You use those with the relay board, you pull 8 of the pins to use it.

It's a good deal.

I think Mojo musical was selling them too, Doug supplied them.

Here's the link to the page in Doug's store with them;

Here's the link for his socket and relay install tips. He goes though how to build them/solder them up. Has great close up pics of them.

Read all the way to the bottom of the page.

http://www.el34world.com/projects/relay_switch.htm

With the relay power supply boards, he has them set up so you can use either, an axial lead or a radial lead electrolytic filter cap.

And the kit Doug sells, with both boards and all the parts, including mounting hardware is $22.33.

I use Doug's relay boards all the time  --  they are cheap and work great.

His power supply boards are also inexpensive and are versatile.   You can wire them up as a straight up 5VDC power supply, or as a voltage doubler.   Or 12VDC supply -- just depends on your parts.

You can't go wrong.   Well, maybe . . . :icon_biggrin:

I made my own LND150 FX loop PCB. The KICAD source and gerbers are here: https://github.com/tristancollins/Guitar-SolidStateFX/

This has board mounted jacks and a pot, intended to be supported by those when in the chassis. I’ve used this design on two builds - seems to work well. As it should - it’s Merlin’s series loop, but made with sand.

Feel free to get some made (the $10 PCBway deal or similar) and share if others are interested.
