Twisting OPT primary wires
« on: May 23, 2010, 10:03:28 am »
Hello all, Im working on a build where Im having to run the OPT primary wires and the CT wire about six inches outside the chassis before entering inside. For neatness can I twist/braid all three wires together or do I need to keep the CT wire separated? Thanks in advance.  Punky

You can twist or not. It should not make any real difference.

Thanks, HBP. I had concern about the B+ in the CT wire being run parallel to the pulsing B+ in the plate wires.

Just remember that those wires are right next to each other as they exit the transformer end-bell. So we can be pretty confident there will be no safety problems.

I was thinking the B+ in the CT might have an effect on the signal in the two plate wires being run together for that six inch length. Sometimes I just over think things.  Thanks for your input.  Punky

Well, gosh... I've never been guilty of over-thinking things....
